This week, the City of Burlington was announced as a 2023 Granicus Digital Government Award Winner for demonstrating an inclusive engagement approach through its annual ‘Food for Feedback’ event.

Since 2010, Granicus has honored government entities and employees who have embraced modern technologies that drive awareness of community programs, improve citizen experiences, transform outdated processes and inspire civic action.

Through the annual ‘Food for Feedback’ event, residents city-wide are invited to come enjoy a free meal in exchange for sharing their thoughts on City projects. The annual family-friendly event features over 30 booths, members of City Council, four food trucks and seeks input on important City priorities such as transit, climate resiliency, customer experience and more.

As part of the 13th annual Digital Government Awards, the City won first place in the ‘Changemaker - Community Engagement Award’ category for demonstrating a commitment to finding innovative ways to engage and support the local community.

The honorees will be featured at Granicus’ Digital Transformation Summit on Oct. 25, 2023.

“We’re thrilled to win this award for Food for Feedback. To be able to engage with over 2000 residents in one event on 30 different City projects is incredible. Thank you to all the food trucks, staff, Council and of course all the residents who came out to provide their feedback.”
