Anyone looking at last night's moon got quite a treat in Burlington, as skies were clear for a partial lunar eclipse.

With the moon above the horizon during this partial eclipse, it was entirely visible to most of North America, as well as other parts of the world.

Quick facts

- 3.5% of the moon's area was covered by Earth's umbra

- entire event lasted four hours and six minutes, beginning around 10:15 p.m.

- 38.85% of the world population would have been able to view the partial phase

A total solar eclipse took place on April 8, 2024, when Spencer Smith Park became the viewing party for locals and visitors.
