St. Matthew-on-the-Plains Anglican Church has been collecting backpacks this summer for struggling students heading back to school next week.
The last day for collections is on Sunday, Sept. 3. Backpacks can be dropped off at the church at 126 Plains Rd. East.
For those who are unable to purchase a backpack, the group is also accepting monetary donations to purchase the items needed to fill the packs. Those who want to help can e-transfer an amount they are comfortable donating to [email protected], with the note: For Backpack Supplies.
The backpacks will be distributed by the Compassion Society of Halton and the Burlington Food Bank.
