Pedestrian struck and killed on Lincoln Alexander Parkway Saturday night

Hamilton police say they received calls reporting a person walking on the highway prior to the Saturday night collision

On Saturday (Aug. 31) at approximately 10:21 p.m., a collision occurred in the westbound lanes of the Lincoln Alexander Parkway, in Hamilton. A 30-year-old man from Hamilton was on the roadway and was struck by a motor vehicle. He was taken to Hamilton General Hospital but succumbed to his injuries. Hamilton Police received several calls regarding a person walking on the roadway of the Lincoln Alexander Parkway prior to the collision.

The driver who struck the male remained on scene and is cooperating with police. Further, a driver of another vehicle who swerved to avoid the male also remained and spoke with police. Alcohol and speed are not considered factors involved in the collision.

At this time, the police are seeking any potential witnesses to this incident and urge anyone with information to come forward.  Investigators are also requesting any motorists in the area at the time of the collision to check their dash cameras to review their camera footage.
