Smouldering ashes are thought to be the cause of an early morning fire.
The Burlington Fire Department dispatched seven emergency vehicles and 21 crew members to Fairview Street just after 1 a.m.
Upon arrival, they found a shed and fence on fire in between two townhouses.
They were on scene for two hours.
No one was injured but the fire caused about $75,000 in damage.
Officials say when disposing of ashes, they should be cooled before they are emptied into a metal container with a tight-fitting lid. That container should be kept outside.
