The Ontario government announced this morning six new ServiceOntario locations opening in Staples stores on Feb. 1.

Six new ServiceOntario centres are opening inside Staples stores Feb. 1, but neither of the Burlington locations are among them.

This morning Todd McCarthy, public and business service delivery minister, announced the six locations that will be part of the three-year pilot project: 2460 Winston Churchill Blvd., Oakville; 17810 Yonge St., Newmarket; 1980 Eglinton Ave. East, Scarborough; 425 Caradoc St. S., Strathroy; 200 Broadway St., Tillsonburg; and 800 Niagara St., Welland.

Three additional ServiceOntario centres will open in Staples stores later this year in Hamilton, Keswick and Toronto.

The ServiceOntario centres in Staples stores will have extended operating hours, parking and access to public transit routes, according to the provincial government.

The Ontario government is exploring the idea of expanding and adding new ServiceOntario locations in First Nation communities, public libraries, other retail locations and in co-locations with municipalities.
